Shivelbine's Music Store, Inc. with 70 years of experience is proud to offer an ideal rental program for beginning band students.  Our plan allows students to try an instrument for a period of time before parents invest in the purchase.  This program is a great opportunity for the beginner to study music until the ability to play and enjoy the instrument is reasonably assured.  The plan works as follows:

  1. You and the band director select the type of instrument that your child would like to play.  The instrument will be handled as if it were your own.  You may take it home and to school just as if you had purchased it.
  2. You select the condition of the instrument that you would like and pay an initial rental fee that covers the rent for the first 90 days.  This initial rental fee applies in full towards that purchase price as shown on your rental contract.  The fee also covers the cost of any repairs that may be needed to keep the instrument in good playing condition.  We make regular visits to your school in order to provide repair services without inconveniencing our customers.  Fire and theft coverage is also included.
  3. You will be notified by letter at the conclusion of the initial rental period. At that time, you will choose from the following options:
    1. Option 1: Purchase the instrument. If paid within 30 days of initial rental expiration you may take advantage of a 20% cash discount. You will also receive a free one-year warranty covering playing condition repairs.
    2. Option 2: Continue to rent under the terms provided in your rental contract and pay a rental fee. Most of this fee applies towards the purchase of the instrument. Repair services are provided at no extra charge, and fire and theft coverage is included as well.
    3. Option 3: Return the instrument with no further obligation.
  4. We, along with your director, recommend a new or like new name-brand instrument. If you are not sure what brands are of good quality, contact your director. Remember, your child may be playing for six or more years and quality instruments will maintain their value and play easier.
