Shivelbine Music Store, Inc. has been serving customers of Southeast Missouri, Northeast Arkansas and Southern Illinois since 1949. However, the store had its beginnings in 1934 under the name of the St. Louis Band Instrument Company.
This store was managed by Mr. R.F. "Peg" Meyer until July of 1947 when Mr. Meyer and William A. Shivelbine bought the St. Louis based company and founded the M & S Music Store. In July of 1949, after the purchase of Mr. Meyer's share of the business, the M & S Music Store became Shivelbine Music Store, Inc. The contributions of over three generations have helped the business grow into one of the largest in the Midwest. It remains a family-owned and operated business to this very day.
